Michi & Maya

With a new start and a lot of strength through Maya into the second half of the season

The birth of his second daughter gives just happiness and power.

Family First

In the last weeks the motto for Michi was very clear: family first!

With a highlight, the birth of his second daughter Maya Aurelia, Michi refueled a lot of strength and motivation. She was born on June 27, 2021, about 2 years after daughter Lola, healthy and happy. The young family is overjoyed and well up.

All about sports

The first half of the season was not outstanding for Michi, but he analyzed the data of the last races and checked off the modest results - look ahead.

After Challenge St. Pölten at the end of May he had to fight with slight health problems after the second Covid-19 vaccination. Due to the full immunization and the additional recovery (Covid-19 infection 2020, but without symptoms) he has a better and safer feeling, especially regarding future trips.

Michi is already qualified for all upcoming World Championships:

  • The Championship Challenge Samorin (29.08.)
  • 70.3 World Championship St. George (19.09.)
  • IRONMAN World Championship Kona (09.10.)

The full focus is clearly on the World Championships in Hawaii. It is the absolutely most important race of the year! The goal is to confirm or improve the best result from his 10th place in 2018.

Michi has big plans for the second half of the season. In July, there will be a lot of volume training. This training block will culminate on July 31 at the Traismauer Triathlon, which, like Challenge St. Pölten, is organized by Bestzeit Events. The home race is a brilliant competition in Lower Austria, which fits very well his preparation.

In August the training will be more specific. After the middle-distance-heavy first half of the season, the main focus will be even more on THE race in October in Kona. Michi is full of energy that the competition conditions will now return to normal and an optimal preparation in his hometown in Gumpoldskirchen will be possible.

All lead up competitions until autumn and if Michi will be on the startline at the 70.3 World Championship, at The Championship or at another race, you will find out in our next story. Stay tuned!
